Popular Toronto smash burger joint RUDY heading to Muskoka

A popular Toronto smash-burger joint is heading north, bringing its classic cheeseburgers and shakes to cottage country.

RUDY, a well-known Toronto burger spot that first opened in Little Italy, announced earlier this month that it will be welcoming a new location in Muskoka.

And the Huntsville store located on Howland Drive will offer its first-ever drive-through.

The announcement was shared on the restaurant’s social media on March 13, generating excitement from food enthusiasts familiar with the store’s simple menu and old-school approach.

According to its website, RUDY first opened in the spring of 2016, founded by childhood friends Luke and Chris with a focus on making cheeseburgers “the old-fashioned way.”

Since opening day, the RUDY brand has grown to roughly a dozen locations across Toronto and other parts of Ontario.

Despite the expansion, the joint has stuck to its original concept: a small, classic menu featuring griddled cheeseburgers, pickle-brined fried chicken, fries cooked in beef tallow, and poutine made with authentic cheese curds.

An official opening date has not yet been announced by the team.
