Police warn public of naked man allegedly exposing himself along Barrie’s popular waterfront trail

Police are warning the public who use Barrie’s popular waterfront trail to be aware of their surroundings after a naked man has allegedly been exposing himself to people walking in the area.

Officers from the Barrie Police Service were called to the waterfront pathway that runs from Minet’s Point to the General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre on Lakeshore Drive after receiving three separate reports regarding a naked man who has been exposing himself to strangers.

The suspect is described as white, with shoulder-length hair tucked behind his ears, and is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old.

Officers say they have responded to the calls over the last 18 hours, and in each incident, the man has managed to evade police.

“Although incidents like this are rare, Barrie Police is advising people who use this popular waterfront trail to be aware of their surroundings at all times, and should they happen to encounter this male, to call police immediately,” stated police in a Tuesday release.
