Pizza Pops E. coli contamination recall

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) released a national recall on Pizza Pops Pepperoni and Bacon flavour.

CFIA says the food has a possible microbial contamination of E. coli 026 and possible other pathogens.

CFIA asks Canadians not to consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the contaminated Pizza Pops, including:

• Pizza Pops Pepperoni + Bacon, 2.85 kilograms
• Pizza Pops Supremo, Extreme pepperoni +Bacon, 3 kg
• Pizza Pops Pepperoni + Bacon, 760 grams
• Pizza Pops FRANK’S RedHot Pepperoni + Bacon, 380 grams.

If you think you’ve become sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.

NEED TO KNOW:

Food contaminated with E. coli 026 may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Symptoms include: nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps, and watery to bloody diarrhea.

In severe cases, the agency warns that some people have strokes, seizures, need blood transfusions and kidney dialysis.

In severe case, people can die.
