One sent to hospital after collision involving school bus in Barrie

Barrie police investigate after a Landmark school bus and van collided in Barrie.

One person was taken to the hospital following a collision involving a school bus and a school bus van in Barrie Thursday afternoon.

Barrie Fire and Emergency Service says crews were called to the area of Lillian Crescent and Cundles Road at approximately 2:46 p.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Barrie police say the driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to a local hospital. The extent of injuries has not been released.

Investigators say they are continuing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Simcoe County District School Board confirmed to CTV News that the bus involved was servicing Barrie North Collegiate. There were no reported injuries to students or the bus driver.

All families were notified by the school board, and the incident caused a delay of approximately 25 minutes.
