Woman, 78, dies following crash in Melancthon Twp.

The 78-year-old woman died at a Collingwood-area hospital of her injuries.

A 78-year-old woman from Listowel has died after a crash at County Road 124 and County Road 21 in Melancthon Township Wednesday morning.

In an email to CTV News, police said two vehicles were involved and one person was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other had minor injuries.

County Road 124 is closed between County Road 17 and Grey Road 9 while emergency crews respond and, according to police, remained closed for several hours.

The road reopened just before 7 p.m.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection at around 11:35 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing and crews are asking anyone with information to contact Dufferin OPP or Crime Stoppers.
