New Tecumseth structure fire now being investigated as arson

Provincial police were called to a newly constructed home on Lawrence D. Pridham Avenue is a new subdivision near Line 14 Wednesday around 3:30 a.m.

New Tecumseth Fire Rescue crews attended and extinguished the fire. No injuries have been reported.

However, the Nottawasaga OPP is investigating the fire as arson, and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect and his car.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark coloured Audi Hatchback that was seen in the area shortly after 3 a.m.

The man was wearing a dark sweater with a light-coloured stripe across the chest and arms.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP Major Crime Unit at 1-800-310-1122. Any drivers or residents in the area between the times of 3 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. with knowledge, dash or security cameras are encouraged to contact the Nottawasaga OPP.
