Man allegedly touches woman’s buttocks in Newmarket; surveillance video released

York Regional Police released these photos of a suspect wanted in connection to a sexual assault outside of the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ont.

York Regional Police have released surveillance video of a suspect, who allegedly touched a woman’s buttocks outside of Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket.

Police say the video shows a 59-year-old woman walking through the mall on Dec. 22, at around 7 p.m. According to investigators, the man can be seen watching the woman and following her as she exits the mall.

York Regional Police say the man then followed her through the parking lot, grabbed her butt and fled south towards Davis Drive.

Investigators believe the incident may be connected to four other similar sexual assaults in Newmarket. Those incidents happened between Aug. 18 and Sept. 25.

The suspect is described as a white man, between the ages of 18 and 25, 5’5” and roughly 125 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, camouflage pants, a black leather baseball cap and running shoes.
