A driver is facing charges, including attempted murder, after she allegedly struck two women with her vehicle in North Sydney, N.S., Wednesday afternoon. Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the parking lot of the Atlantic Superstore on King Street around 2:40 p.m. Police say two women had been hit by a vehicle. Paramedics arrived and took one victim, an 84-year-old, to hospital with serious but non-life-threating injuries. The second victim, a 52-year-old, suffered minor injuries. Police say they spoke with witnesses and the 50-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle, which was seized. Further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested and charged. Colleen Blanche Burton is scheduled to appear in Sydney provincial court on Thursday to face the following charges: Police say the victims and Burton are known to each other.
