It never rains but it pours, a lot in Central Ontario

This morning’s Environment Canada warning noted: “Another round of heavy rain may affect parts of the region Wednesday.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, here are the road closures, flooded areas and sandbag locations for areas in Central Ontario.

Bracebridge

Closed

Germania Road

• From civic address 1405 Germania Road to Flynn’s Road
• From Flynn’s Road to civic address 1507 Germania Road
• The temporary road closure is in effect until further notice

Caution

Campbell’s Road

• From civic address 1030 to 1088
• Water is over the road but passable

Peterson Road

• From civic addresses 1056 to 1090; 1099 to 1147 and 1245 to 1296
• Water is over the road but passable

Reay Road

• From civic address 1531 to Chaikof Road Private
• Water is over the road but passable

River Road

• From civic addresses 30 to 80
• Water is over the road but passable

Thompson Road

• From civic address 1022 to Thompson Bridge
• Water is over the road but passable

Gravenhurst

Sandbags are available:

End of East Severn River Road

Huntsville

Closed

Etwell Road from Buckhorn Road to 336 m southeast of Buckhorn Road.

Sandbag materials will be available 24/7 for residents to fill at the following locations as of 2 p.m. Tuesday:

• Active Living Centre – Upper parking lot, 20 Park Drive, Huntsville
• Port Sydney Fire Department, 387 S Mary Lake Road, Port Sydney

Innisfil

Closed

Due to significant rainfall, Maple Road from Belle Aire Beach Road to Spooners Road is closed due to flooding

Tiny Beaches Road North between Concession 13 West and #584 Tiny Beaches Road North will be closed to due to flooding and a compromised culvert until further notice. A detour is available via Concession 13 West, Quesnelle Drive, River Bend Road, and Pennorth Drive.

Oro-Medonte Township

Coldwater Road

Lower Big Chute Road

Moonstone Road

Ramara Township

Closed

Sheba Drive

The township does not provide sandbands unless a municipal emergency is declared.

Severn Township

Sandbag stations remain stocked and available for residents in Severn and Black Rivers around Washago, as well as Sparrow Lake and Lake St. John.

• Intersection of Cambrian Road and Canal Road
• Lauderdale Point Crescent (Peninsula Point Road and Bennett Avenue)
• Coldwater Community Centre, 11 Michael Anne Drive
