Innisfil dogs prepare to represent Canada at Flyball Open World Cup

Barrie-based flyball club 'Some Ruff Competition' will take part in the 2026 Flyball Open World Cup in Norwich England.

After winning gold at the West Minster Dog Show, Innisfil based dog club is preparing to head to Norwich to take on international competition at the Flyball Open World Cup (FOWC).

Flyball is a four-dog relay race where teams compete head-to-head over hurdles to a spring-loaded box that launches a ball. Dogs race down, trigger the box, grab the ball, and race back, with the next dog cross nose to nose at the timers. The team with the fastest time is declared the winner.

Some ‘Ruff’ Competition is a flyball team based out of Innisfil, who became the first ever Canadian team to participate in the flyball competition portion of the Westminster Dog show in Jan. 2026.

The team also set a record for the fastest time in competition history, at 16.28 seconds.
