Foundation laid for new elementary schools in Simcoe County

Construction is well underway on two new schools for the Catholic board in Simcoe County to create space for growing communities.

The foundation has been laid on Martin Trail for the new Tottenham Catholic Elementary School and the new Bradford Catholic Elementary School on Rogers Trail in Bradford.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) says both schools, at a cost of $23 million each, will have identical designs and capacity for 516 students, plus three-room child care centres with 49 spaces.

Bradford and Tottenham are the fastest growing communities for the Catholic board, officials said.

Both schools are scheduled to welcome students next fall.
