Driver caught travelling on Hwy. 400 with chunk missing from commercial trailer tire

West Parry Sound Police say a concerned motorist spotted the damage and called police.

A chunk of tire missing from a commercial trailer on Highway 400 has landed one driver in hot water.

Recently, West Parry Sound police reported receiving a call regarding a damaged tire. Police noted that a concerned driver observed the unusual sight while traveling along the busy highway.

Officers tracked down the truck in Seguin Township.

When they pulled the driver over, they noted finding a large piece of the trailer tire torn off, creating a serious safety concern along Highway 400.

Officials say both the driver and the owner of the vehicle were issued multiple charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
