Udder chaos on Highway 11 as cows stops traffic

Two cows were caught after a morning stroll on the highway in Orillia Thursday morning.

Two cows have somehow appeared out of nowhere and made their way onto the road blocking traffic on Highway 11 in Orillia Thursday afternoon.

Police said one cow has been captured safely while the second one was a little bit more elusive.

After taking a quick detour into Scouts Valley, it headed to a parking lot off Old Barrie Road where a trailer arrived to contain it.

The right lane on Highway 11 southbound, the exit and access rail at Old Barrie Road were all closed at 1:30 p.m. for about an hour.

Old Barrie Road was also closed from Line 15 to Highway 11.

Luckily, the OPP detachment is in the area and officers with the owners were on scene corralling the animal.
