Commercial motor vehicles stripped from Bradford, Ont. roads, multiple charges laid

Ten commercial motor vehicles were stripped from the roads of Bradford following a major blitz.

According to South Simcoe Police, 33 provincial offence notices were handed out to different drivers on Monday.

The commercial motor vehicle enforcement was conducted by South Simcoe Police officers and inspectors from the Ministry of Transportation.

Police say a total of 14 commercial vehicle inspections were conducted at the start of the week, and 2 licence plates were removed from vehicles.

“Unsafe commercial vehicles pose serious safety risks to all road users. Both drivers and company owners share the responsibility of ensuring that their vehicles meet safety standards and are operated in a safe manner on our roadways,” stated police in a Wednesday release.

The South Simcoe Police Service says it remains committed to road safety through continued enforcement.

“We thank the Ministry of Transportation for their ongoing support in promoting safer roads in our communities,” Simcoe officers concluded.
