Collingwood OPP: Three impaired driving charges in two days

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)’s Collingwood and Blue Mountains detachment arrested and charged three drivers with impaired operation in a span of two days.

On Friday, OPP conducted a traffic stop in the Highway 26 and Beachwood Road area of Collingwood at approximately 3 a.m. that lead to the two charges of operation while impaired against a 21-year-old Collingwood man.

On Sunday, shortly after 2 a.m., OPP conducted a police stop just four kilometres away at Hurontario Street and First Street that lead to charges being laid against a 49-year-old Milton man. He was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Highway 26 and Robert Avenue. Police located a vehicle allegedly involved in the incident and began an impaired driving investigation, that lead of two charges of impaired operation being laid against a 49-year-old man from Minnesota.
