Barrie teen charged in connection with Oakville shooting

This comes after officers responded to reports of gun shots around 5:30 a.m. on March 29.

A Barrie teen is facing a slew of firearm-related charges in connection with an early morning shooting in Oakville in late March.

Halton Regional Police officers were called to Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line at 5:30 a.m. on March 29 for reports of a shooting.

One man was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

Investigators believed the shooting to be targeted.

The Barrie teen, 18, is facing six charges including careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, unauthorised possession of a firearm and mischief to property over $5,000.

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who may have information to call police, as they continue to search for additional suspects.
