6-year-old boy killed in Mulmur crash: Police

Police say a 6-year-old boy has died after the vehicle he was in with five others collided with a pickup truck in Mulmur on Sunday.

Authorities say two people, including another child, are in the hospital fighting for their lives.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dufferin OPP and emergency crews responded to the crash at County Road 17 and County Road 19.

Police say as a result of the collision, a 6-year-old boy was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The two people with life-threatening injuries are a man, 30, and a two-year-old child, who were airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre, according to police.

The rest of the passengers, including the solo driver of the pickup truck, were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are unknown.

Police tell CTV News the road was closed for several hours while OPP and the Technical Collision Investigation team were on scene.

“The OPP are still continuing their investigation at this time to determine what took place,” a spokesperson for OPP tells CTV News.
