A teen is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision in Summerside, P.E.I., Tuesday. Summerside Police Services received a 911 call reporting a crash in the Central Street roundabout area around 5:20 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they learned a vehicle had collided with a utility pole on Central Street. “The driver, a male under the age of 18, was identified and subsequently arrested for impaired driving,” reads a social media post by Summerside Police Services. “The driver provided two samples of breath, both of which were twice the legal limit. As a result, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver was served a driving prohibition.” The youth was released into the care of a parent and is scheduled to appear in court to answer impaired driving charges.
