Charlottetown police arrest 5 people, lay 34 charges after seizing weapons, drugs

Charlottetown Police Services has arrested five people and laid 34 charges after seizing drugs and weapons from a residence while executing a search warrant on Feb. 12.

During the search, police seized:

• 340 grams of cocaine
• 18 grams of crack cocaine
• 18 grams of ecstasy
• a quantity of oxycodone
• 253 grams of dried cannabis
• a shotgun and ammunition
• a revolver and ammunition
• approximately $39,000 in cash
• numerous cellphones
• drug packaging materials
• drug processing materials

Teagen Anthony James Gass, 25, has been charged with:

• possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession (of opioid) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession (of methylenedioxyamphetamine – ecstasy) for the purpose of trafficking
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
• two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm
• two counts of possession of a firearm / weapon / ammunition at unauthorized place
• two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• two counts of careless use of a firearm
• two counts of weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization
• failure to comply with probation order
• distribute over 30 grams of dried cannabis
• possess, sell, distribute, tobacco products and raw leaf tobacco

Tanner James Paul Hill, 24, has been charged with:

• possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession (of opioid) for the purpose of trafficking
• possession (of methylenedioxyamphetamine – ecstasy) for the purpose of trafficking
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
• two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm
• two counts of possession of a firearm / weapon / ammunition at unauthorized place
• two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• two counts of careless use of a firearm
• failure to comply with a probation order
• distribute over 30 grams of dried cannabis (or equivalent)
• possess, sell, distribute, tobacco products and raw leaf tobacco

Gass and Hill were remanded into custody. They will appear in court on Feb. 24.

A 24-year-old female, 25-year-old male and 27-year-old male were released with charges pending.
