50-year-old man dies after single vehicle collision in Dunstaffnage, P.E.I.

A 50-year-old Stratford man has died following a single vehicle crash on Route 2 in Dunstaffnage area of P.E.I.

Queens District RCMP, North Shore Fire Department and Island EMS were dispatched following a report on Tuesday around 9:05 p.m.

Police say at the scene, a single vehicle was found in a ditch after rolling off the road. The driver was located a distance from the car in a wooded area.

The 50-year-old man received assistance from Island EMS and North Shore Fire Department members but died from his injuries at the scene.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

“An RCMP traffic reconstructionist attended the scene and an RCMP drone operator also supported the initial investigation, which remains ongoing,” a release from the RCMP said.
