No charges for youth arrested in connection with Sackville High School threat

The RCMP says a youth that was arrested in connection with an alleged threat at a school in Lower Sackville, N.S., earlier this week was released without charges.

Police responded to a weapons complaint at Sackville High School just before 2:30 p.m. Monday. Police say someone reported a youth in possession of a weapon off school property.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education sent an email to families stating the school had received a threat and immediately called the RCMP.

Responding officers arrested a youth and searched the area with help from RCMP Police Dog Services.

However, the RCMP says it did not find a weapon and the youth was released without charges.

Police are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 902-420-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
