Three people were taken to hospital following a head-on collision in Clementsport, N.S., on Sunday. Annapolis County RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a Kia Rio and a Jeep Wrangler on Highway 1 at around 9:35 p.m. Officers found the driver of the Kia, a youth, and noticed signs of impairment by alcohol, according to a news release from the RCMP Thursday. The youth was arrested on scene and later released to be taken to hospital by EHS for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Kia, who was also a youth, as well as the driver and only occupant of the Jeep, were also taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. “This collision is still under investigation as officers continue to assess and analyse factors that contributed to the collision, including impairment by alcohol,” read the release. Police added charges related to impaired operation or other driving offences may be considered based on the outcome of the investigation.
