A youth is facing charges after police say two security guards were “seriously injured” at the hospital in Truro, N.S. Truro Police Service responded to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for a report of an assault around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, officers discovered two hospital security guards had been “seriously injured” when a person visiting the hospital allegedly assaulted them. Both guards required medical treatment, according to a social media post by Truro police. Police say the suspect, a 16-year-old male who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested at the scene. He is facing a number of charges, including assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. The teen was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Truro provincial court on Thursday.
