Nova Scotia’s police watchdog is investigating after a man was Tasered and then hospitalized in Cape Breton. Cape Breton Regional Police was investigating a robbery in North Sydney last Thursday. The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) says a police officer deployed his Taser and pepper spray while arresting one of the male suspects. The man went into medical distress shortly after. SIRT says he was taken to hospital and admitted “due to his condition.” Police referred the incident to SiRT the same day.
