Police looking for driver after 11-year-old boy struck in Bedford, N.S.

Police are trying to track down the driver of a vehicle that struck an 11-year-old boy in Bedford, N.S., Tuesday morning.

Halifax Regional Police says the boy was crossing in a marked crosswalk at the roundabout for Larry Uteck Boulevard and Broad Street when he was struck around 8:20 a.m.

“The driver of the vehicle briefly stopped but then left the area, heading outbound on Larry Uteck Blvd,” said police in a statement Wednesday.

“The boy was not injured.”

Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle, which is believed to be a newer model, grey four-door Toyota Corolla.

Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam or video footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
