Hundreds of Nova Scotia Power workers will vote on a new offer from the utility this week, according to their union. In a statement, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1928, which submitted a 48-hour strike notice on Monday, said Nova Scotia Power reached out with an enhanced offer later that same day. “They offered a $1,000 signing bonus for regular and eligible labor pool employees who have worked on or after April 1, 2026,” the statement reads. “All other negotiated items/offers remain the same.” IBEW says members will vote on the offer between 2 p.m. Tuesday and noon Friday. According to the union’s website, it represents roughly 800 workers with Nova Scotia Power. Union members voted against a second tentative agreement with the utility last week.
