Sidney Crosby sends message to fans at exclusive screening

Hockey fans packed the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax Sunday for a special event celebrating Sidney Crosby and the National Hockey League.

“FACEOFF: Inside the NHL” is a docuseries featuring the “National Hockey League’s biggest teams and most compelling characters, all at different stages of their careers,” according to a news release from Prime Video.

A trailer for season two highlights an interviewer asking Crosby what keeps him motivated at this stage in his career.

“Winning. I don’t really know any different,” responded the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who hails from Cole Harbour, N.S.

Season two will begin streaming on Oct. 3, with six episodes. Ahead of the drop date, Prime Video held exclusive screening events in three Canadian cities: Halifax, Toronto, and Ottawa.

Fans at the Scotiabank Centre also got to watch a special video message from Crosby.

“I just wanted to say how grateful that I am for all your support over the years. I understand that you’re going to get to see an early screening of ‘FACEOFF: Inside the NHL,’ so I hope you enjoy it and thanks again for all your support,” said Crosby in the video message.

The Halifax event, which was hosted in support of the Sidney Crosby Foundation, included the chance to win a trip to see the Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Nov. 3.
