Wehyee Wonlea, an industrial engineering university student, was studying for his finals a few weeks ago, but he had the sound of a car alarm stuck in his head. “I saw this video of this girl making a beat to a car alarm and I thought it was so nice,” Wonlea said. “I took that video and made a beat out of it that night. When I had the lyrics, I went right to my studio.” Wonlea is a Halifax-area rapper who goes by the name T-Low. He drew inspiration from Instagram user p3rsussy for the car alarm song, which has since gone viral. “She (p3rsussy) said she was so honoured to be part of it and I was honoured that she even reacted to it. Just great working with her. “My notifications were blowing up. I had to keep my mind focused on school while my phone was blowing up.” Wonlea says he taught himself how to make music by ear. “I’ve always been doing creative things growing up,” he said. “I love trying new things. “A lot of people said that you can’t blow up in Halifax, it’s a small city.
