Man faces 28 charges after N.S. RCMP seizes cocaine, weapons from Digby home

A 36-year-old man is facing more than two dozen charges after police say they seized cocaine and weapons in Digby County.

The RCMP completed a “targeted traffic stop” on Highway 303 in Conway, N.S., on Friday. They arrested the driver and passenger and allegedly seized cocaine.

Police say they later executed a search warrant at the driver’s home on Queen Street in Digby.

“During the search, investigators seized five long guns, ammunition, a prohibited conducted‑energy weapon, a crossbow, and a prohibited baton,” said the RCMP in a news release Tuesday.

Logan Llewellyn Raymond of Digby is facing 28 charges including, but not limited to:

• careless use of a firearm
• five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
• five counts of possession of a firearm when knowing its possession is unauthorized
• unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
• two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing its possession is unauthorized
• possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
• resist/obstruct peace officer
• nine counts of failing to comply with a release order

Raymond was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Digby provincial court at a later date.

His passenger was released without charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
