Cape Breton Regional Police says a 32-year-old man is facing a second-degree murder charge following a suspicious death in New Waterford, N.S. Officers were called to a home on Ling Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police say they found an unresponsive person inside the home. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the person dead. Police say they arrested a man who was known to the 25-year-old female victim. Zachary Paul Landry was later charged and scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Investigators are treating the death as an isolated incident and say there is no risk to public safety.
