Lunenburg, N.S., residents and businesses are being asked to conserve water after a breach at the Dares Lake dam Wednesday. The Lunenburg Regional Emergency Management Organization said crews are working to stabilize the breach at the dam, which serves as the town’s drinking water source. “Residents and businesses connected to the Town of Lunenburg water system are being asked to immediately conserve water and reduce all non-essential water use,” the town says. “Emergency officials continue to respond to the Dares Lake dam breach while monitoring impacts to the municipal water supply.” There are no evacuation orders in place and the town says there is no immediate risk to the public.
