A Halifax Transit ferry will soon be hitting the water again after prolonged maintenance, according to a news release from the city on Friday. Halifax Transit says the Vincent Coleman ferry will be returning to the water at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday. With the ferry back in service, the Alderney ferry will be operating on its usual schedule of every 15 minutes on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. The vessel was sent to get a steering issue fixed on Jan. 6, but issues in getting parts led to a prolonged time out of the water. Halifax Transit says the Craig Blake ferry is still undergoing scheduled inspections as well as significant repair, and it will not be back in service until later in the year.
