Gun shots reported in East Preston, N.S., one person in custody

Nova Scotia RCMP investigated reports of shots fired in East Preston Thursday morning.

The RCMP says it is investigating after shots were fired in East Preston, N.S., Thursday morning.

Officers responded to a report of gun shots in the 1600 block of Highway 7 around 9:30 a.m.

That area of the highway is currently closed.

Police say no injuries have been reported at this time and one person is in custody.

There is also an increased police presence in the 100 block of Lake Loon Road, about five kilometres from the scene.

People are being asked to avoid both areas.
