Fires in Cape Breton neighbourhood being treated as suspicious

A suspicious fire destroyed two homes and three vehicles in Cape Breton.

Fires that badly damaged two homes and three vehicles in a Cape Breton subdivision are being treated as suspicious.

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a complaint of a residential fire on Leeside Drive in Coxheath, N.S., shortly after 3 a.m. on Sept. 2.

Security was still on site at the two homes Monday and a burned out truck could also be seen in one of the driveways.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the matter is under investigation by their general investigation unit, along with the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office.
