Church Point man wanted on drug, weapons charges arrested: N.S. RCMP

A 34-year-old man who was wanted on more than two dozen charges, including drug and weapons offences, has been arrested.

Police said on Dec. 4 that they had issued an arrest warrant for Joel Gaudet of Church Point, N.S.

The RCMP released an update on Monday, stating Gaudet has been safely arrested.

He is facing the following charges:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
• six counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
• four counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• unsafe storage of a firearm
• five counts of possession contrary to an order and failing to surrender authorization
• possession of property obtained by crime
• six counts of failing to comply with a release order

Gaudet appeared in Digby provincial court on Thursday. He was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
