A Nova Scotia couple who reconnected after years apart have written a Christmas book together. Mike and Corinne MacQueen’s book “Bored Santa and Narwhally The Wise,” explores what Santa Claus does between Christmas’. “It starts off as the last gift is being delivered and Santa is heading back to the North Pole. He suddenly becomes overwhelmed with a sense of dread and realizes he has nothing to do till next Christmas,” said Mike. Corinne says the book sends a beautiful message to readers. “It’s about self-love and a bigger perspective on life,” she said. “And finding the silver lining in all the little things that make you who you are,” adds Mike. Corinne says she and Mike dated back in high school, but went their separate ways till they reconnected two years ago at Christmas. “When we dated when we were younger, I would always beg Mike to draw me cartoons. He is a really gifted cartoonist. Then he stopped drawing cartoons, and I told him you have to get back to drawing,” said Corinne. Mike and Corrine said they are overwhelmed by the positive feedback. “We have seen firsthand how this book has brought joy to people who are having a more difficult time over the holidays. The book has brough perspective to them. It’s been touching to see all the positive feedback. It has really been overwhelming,” said Corinne. “It sums up [that] there really is a lot more to Christmas than just the gifts. It’s friends, family, spending time together,” said Mike.
