2025 Halifax cruise season promises to be longest one yet

The Port of Halifax says 188 cruise ships will visit the city this year.

The upcoming cruise season in Halifax looks to be the longest one in history, but so far its scheduled passenger and ship numbers are below the benchmarks from 2024.

The Port of Halifax says the 2025 cruise season will kick off with the arrival of the Viking Polaris on April 4 and it will wrap up when the AIDAdiva docks in the harbour on Nov. 19.

Last year’s cruise season ran from April 6 to Nov. 3.

According to the Port of Halifax, 188 vessel calls and roughly 328,000 cruise guests are expected to come through the city this year. In 2024, Halifax saw 201 calls and more than 350,000 passengers.

This year there will be 52 days with multiple ships in the harbour and six vessels will make their inaugural calls in Halifax.

The Port of Halifax is installing water bottle filling stations, murals, digital signage and an interactive information booth at Pavilion 22 this season.
