The 129th Natal Day Parade in Dartmouth kept people entertained during the non-statutory holiday. While the route has changed over time, this year’s 2.3-kilometre stretch went through Downtown Dartmouth. 43 floats and other participants joined in this year’s parade, representing hundreds of people. A city says spokesperson says that’s a sign that interest is increasing for people wanting to get involved. Thankfully, the weather held off – for the most part. “I think it’s very Nova Scotian to have people come out in the dreary, overcast, 15-degree weather just to watch a parade and watch their community come together for Natal Day,” says Simone Boudreau, civic and events support coordinator with HRM. “Good to see the parade, the great attendance, great turnout by the public and the community,” says Stephen MacDonald, the parade marshal. “It just kind of goes to show that we’re all working together to pull something like this off for everybody’s enjoyment.” For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
