A youth has been arrested for alleged facilitation of a terrorist activity, according to a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP. Police say they arrested the youth in late 2025. The youth is now under the authority of a terrorism peace bond, which is the first in New Brunswick history. “A terrorism peace bond can be used when investigators fear that a terrorist offence may be carried out, enabling the use of robust monitoring and de-escalation tools,” a news release from police reads. “This case is part of a broader trend observed by the ER NSES in New Brunswick involving youth radicalization driven by exposure to extremist online spaces and peer-to-peer networks.” Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, police cannot release any further information about the accused.
