The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating a member of the RCMP’s actions while responding to a call in Carlingford, N.B., last month. Members of the Perth-Andover RCMP responded to a disturbance at a residence the night of Oct. 3. “While inside the residence a struggle ensued between one of the officers and an adult male. The officer deployed his conductive energy weapon (CEW/Taser) twice which struck the male,” a release from SiRT reads. According to the release, the man did not sustain a serious injury. However, the RCMP received a public complaint and, upon review, the RCMP had concerns around the level of force the officer used.
