Saint John police arrest man after aggravated assault hospitalizes victim

A 38-year-old man is in hospital in critical condition following a serious assault in Uptown Saint John on Tuesday evening.

Saint John police say they responded to the assault in the Richmond and Exmouth streets area around 6:40 p.m. They found the man suffering from serious injuries and he was taken to hospital.

On Wednesday, police say they arrested a 34-year-old man in connection to the incident. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

“At this point in the police investigation, it is believed to be an isolated incident,” a news release says.
