Police in St. Stephen, N.B, are asking the public for help identifying a man following a copper theft in the community. The St. Stephen RCMP received a report of the theft at a business on King Street around 4:30 a.m. on July 7. “A man approached the exterior of the business, proceeded to cut copper wire lines before leaving the scene with the copper. Police are now releasing a surveillance footage photo in hopes that someone may recognize him,” reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP. Police describe the man as in his 50s, with a tall, slim build. At the time of the theft, he was wearing a long-sleeve grey shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap. Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man, or who has information that could help further the investigation, to contact the St. Stephen RCMP at 506-466-7030 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
