The RCMP is asking for help in locating a missing senior after they found his abandoned vehicle stuck in the mud in Bathurst, N.B. Police say 89-year-old Jesus Garcia De Palau from the Duguayville area was last seen near Shippagan around 1 p.m. on June 21. He was reported missing to police around 10 a.m. Monday. The Chaleur Region RCMP also received a report Monday morning about an abandoned vehicle stuck in the mud on a trail at the end of Gloucester Junction Road in Bathurst. “Police determined that the vehicle belongs to Jesus Garcia De Palau, however, there was no sign of him at the scene,” said the RCMP in a news release Monday. “Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate him but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and his family are concerned for his wellbeing.” Jesus Garcia De Palau is described as roughly five-foot-seven and 180 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes. A clothing description is not available at this time. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Chaleur Region RCMP at 506-548-7771.
