New Brunswick signs with the Toronto Blue Jays in tourism partnership

The Toronto Blue Jays’ latest signing has an East Coast connection.

The MLB team is partnering with the New Brunswick government to showcase the province as a tourism destination to Blue Jays fans.

The government will spend $1,624,000 over three years on the partnership, which will include:

• promotional game-day experiences
• a national contest
• storytelling and media opportunities

“The Blue Jays are a shared part of Canadian culture, giving us a meaningful way to connect with future travellers by sharing what makes our province special,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Isabelle Thériault in a news release from the province.

“Investing in this partnership will help showcase New Brunswick and establish it as a world-class destination.”

The province says tourism contributes billions of dollars annually to New Brunswick’s economy and they hope to capitalize on the team’s popularity to promote long-term growth in the industry.

“We look forward to working with the Tourism New Brunswick team to celebrate and connect our fans from coast to coast to coast,” said Mark Ditmars, the team’s vice-president of partnerships.
