One lucky New Brunswicker is heading into 2026 with an extra $1.9 million in his bank account. Guy Martin, along with his children Danie and Alain, found the ace of hearts during Week 50 of the Breakfast Chaleur Chase the Ace draw, to win a total of $1,949,023. There were just three cards left when Martin, of Beresford, N.B., found the elusive ace Tuesday night. Over the past year, hundreds of northern New Brunswickers from Campbellton to Bathurst entered the draw. Organizers say the money raised throughout the campaign will go towards the non-profit’s efforts to prevent food insecurity among the area’s youth.
