A 65-year-old man from Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, N.B., has been charged following a prohibited-weapons investigation. The New Brunswick RCMP says its Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, in partnership with the Canada Border Services Agency, began an investigation this month after prohibited weapons were sent to a residence in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska. “On November 26, 2025, the New Brunswick RCMP Provincial Crime Reduction Unit, along with members of the West District Crime Reduction Unit, the Saint-Leonard RCMP detachment, the RCMP Federal policing Eastern Region, Police Dog Services, and the RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a property on Saint-Pierre Street in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska as part of the investigation,” a news release from the RCMP reads. Police say several prohibited weapons were seized during the search. The 65-year-old man along with a 40-year-old woman were arrested at the scene. The woman was later released from custody. Emery “Pit” Martin appeared in Edmundston provincial court on Thursday and was charged with six counts of a prohibited weapon contrary to the conditions of his release.
