Man arrested after Saint John police seize cocaine, illegal tobacco

The Saint John Police Force has arrested a 43-year-old man in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

Officers made the arrest at the man’s residence on Old Black River Road on the east side of Saint John, N.B., around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

After the arrest, police searched the suspect and his home and allegedly seized:

• cash
• a firearm
• cocaine
• drug paraphernalia including packaging and digital scales
• contraband tobacco

The man was held in custody for a court appearance on Thursday. He is facing the following charges:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• possession of proceeds of crime
• possession of a firearm contrary to an order
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• careless storage of a firearm.
