Around $70,000 worth of contraband and unauthorized items were seized on Nov. 15 at the Atlantic Institution, a maximum-security federal institution in Renous, N.B. Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says the items seized included THC, tobacco, cell phones and accessories and handmade stabbing weapons. Police have been notified, and the institution is investigating, according to a news release from CSC. CSC has set up a telephone tip line for all federal institutions to receive informational about activities relating to security at CSC institutions. Anyone with information that may be related to drug use or trafficking that may threaten the safety and security of visitors, inmates and staff members is asked to call 1-866-780-3784.
