50-year-old man dies after motorcycle, bicycle collision: N.B. RCMP

The driver of a motorcycle involved in a collision with a bicycle on Thursday in Saint-André, N.B., has died.

The 50-year-old man from Grand Falls was involved in a crash with a bicycle around 6:30 p.m. The driver and sole occupant of the bicycle, a 15-year-old boy, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Saint-Léonard RCMP, who responded to the crash, says the driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. He died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Police say the collision is believed to have happened while both the motorcycle and the bicycle were travelling southbound.

“Members of the Drummond and Saint-André Fire Departments, Ambulance New Brunswick, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene,” a release from the RCMP reads.

A member from the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation.
