One person dead following house fire in Fredericton

One person has died following a house fire in Fredericton, N.B.

One person has died following a house fire on the north side of Fredericton Tuesday night.

The Fredericton Fire Department says they responded to the structure fire on the 200 block of Barton Crescent around 7:53 p.m.

“Twenty-three FFD staff responded to the emergency, and crews arrived to find a home that was heavily involved with fire,” Chief Dwayne Killingbeck of the Fredericton Fire Department said in a statement.

The lone occupant in the home was transported to hospital, where they later died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
